A little child shall lead them
I’d like to introduce you to Daisy Griffin. At just fifteen years old, Daisy has developed a migraine advocacy project that puts most of our adult efforts to shame.
Like many of you, Daisy was diagnosed with migraine at a very young age. She has lived with migraine most of her life. Recently, her migraine attacks worsened to the point that she needed inpatient care to treat chronic migraine.
She isn’t letting her personal struggles with migraine slow her down. When it came time to develop a plan for her Girl Scout Gold Award, she choose to use that opportunity to create awareness about migraine. In the early planning stages she was unable to find any children’s books about migraine. Realizing how difficult it had been to grow up with migraine, she wanted to create a book for children with migraine.
Now that her project has been approved, she is collecting artwork and comments from other children with migraine to be included in her book. The finished project will be a children’s migraine book by children with migraine. Her plan is to donate the proceeds of the book to migraine research.
If you have or know any kids with migraine, please share this opportunity with them. They can help Daisy make her project a reality by submitting artwork and comments.
