May is Mental Health Awareness MonthLast Updated:
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental health is essential to everyone’s overall health and well-being, and mental illnesses are common and treatable.
While one in five people will experience a mental illness during their lifetime, everyone faces challenges in life that can impact their mental health. Throughout the month, I’ll be sharing practical tools everyone can use to improve their mental health and increase resiliency regardless of the situation. It’s not always easy to do, yet incorporating these tools into an overall healthy lifestyle allows us to thrive. By gradually making small changes and building on each success, we can thrive and adapt to any situation.
To start off the month, I’d like to encourage you to take a mental health screening at MHAScreening.org. It’s a quick, free, and private way to get a snapshot of our current mental health and learn to recognize the warning signs that indicate when we might need a mental health “tune up.”
Lastly, Paul Gionfriddo, President and CEO of Mental Health America has a very special message for all of us.2020 Mental Health Awareness Month Message
