What are the 3 things you look forward to the most in the summer?
Whether it’s travel, the weather, family cookouts or another activity,
share with your readers why you’re excited for summer!
Historically summer has been tough.
For several years Cluster Headaches and Migraines have rule the summer. All the fun of fireworks on July 4tn or campouts, BBQ cookouts, and anything outdoors have been unavailable. Now that Botox appears to have both headache disorders under reasonable control, I can look forward to all the fun once again.
This summer gets kicked off in a big way.
Officially, summer starts June 21st. Unofficially, summer starts when school is dismissed. So we really start summer activities a full month or more before its official start. The warmer weather makes it easy to forget that spring still has another four weeks to go.
My family already has a packed agenda starting in mid-May. First we’ll celebrate our beautiful granddaughter’s first birthday with a packed house and cookout. The very next day our baby boy graduates from high school. Then at the end of the month we’ll celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary and the beginning of life with an “empty nest” as our kids take off to build their own lives.Image courtesy of Daniel Schwen at Wikimedia Commons
June gets started with Migraine and Headache Awareness Month. For the 4th consecutive year, I will be accepting Blog and Twitter challenges, so look for some awesome content every day in June.
In the last half of June I’ll be taking a road trip to Washington, DC with some migraine friends. It will be my first road trip in years. It’s the first time I’ve ever visited our nation’s capital, so I’m planning to get in some sight-seeing while I’m there. We’re going to the American Headache and Migraine Association Patient Conference on June 21st.
That’s all happening before the official start of summer!
June 22 we’ll get back on the road to head home. The fun continues with more sight-seeing and bonding with my sister migraineurs.
Hopefully Botox will allow me to enjoy some fireworks on July 4th for the first time in years.
Then hubby leaves in early August for the National Order of the Arrow Conference. I will miss him, but I know that he will have a blast. I’m so proud of his leadership and cheerful service! He deserves to go have some fun with the guys.
